Fuel uplift calculator for pilots — iPhone and Apple Watch
Calculations
How is the uplift calculated?
Uplift in litres = (Target fuel − Fuel on board) × density constant. The density constant defaults to 0.567 L/lb and can be changed in Settings.
What does the ReFuelEU check do?
The policy minimum uplift is (Trip fuel + Taxi fuel) × 90% × density constant. The result turns green when your uplift meets it and red when it does not. Trip fuel is optional; without it the check is not run and the result stays blue. Under Trip Fuel, Upliftic also shows the highest trip fuel that would still comply.
What is the Departure ICAO field?
It is optional. Enter the four-letter code of your departure airport and Upliftic checks it against the European Commission's list of Union airports in scope of ReFuelEU Aviation, which is built into the app. If the airport is not on the list, the result turns grey and Trip Fuel is not needed. The Commission publishes the list for information only: an airport missing from it is not automatically exempt.
Apple Watch
The app does not appear on my watch
The watch app is installed together with the iPhone app. If it is missing, open the Watch app on your iPhone, scroll to Available Apps and tap Install next to Upliftic. To have it install automatically in future, turn on Automatic App Install under General. The watch app needs watchOS 10 or later.
How do I add a complication?
Touch and hold the watch face, tap Edit, swipe to Complications, choose a slot and pick Upliftic. Uplift shows the current uplift in litres and opens the result; New uplift opens the first input, fuel on board.
Do the iPhone and the watch stay in sync?
Yes. Fuel on board, target, trip and taxi fuel are exchanged directly between your iPhone and your paired Apple Watch, and the most recent change wins.
